The third day we had a little driving to do in order to get to Kennedy Space
Center. Our cameras eventually lost power, lost some of the pictures we
took, or we simply ran out of memory space (Blame Magic Kingdom for that).
So did the Space Station exhibit for that matter (lost power, that is), so that
part we missed. We did however get to see all the spots where a space
shuttle spends time between assembly and launch. Atlantis was on the
launching pad, but the following day they had to bring it back following hail
damage. To cap a day that was fascinating otherwise, the GPS instructed us
to take a road that was going through NASA's playground. Needless to say,
we were turned back at the gate; the officer on duty was as cool as a cucumber
when we told him about the GPS - not even the faintest smile as he pointed
behind us and said "Go back!".
